I am Anthony Barr, the Founder and CEO of The Anthony Barr Foundation. The Anthony Barr Foundations is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to supporting single mothers in their educational pursuits. As a young child, I witnessed my mother work hard to put herself through college after having me when she was only 19 years old. She worked as a classroom assistant in the morning hours, went to school in the afternoon, and waited tables at night. Even so, she still had to take out student loans to pay for college, loans she is still paying off today.

As the founding member of this organization, I am committed to addressing the issue of women’s education. The goal at The Anthony Barr Foundation is to raise awareness and funds in order to provide scholarships for single mothers wishing to attend four year, two year, trade, and technical schools, as well as providing financial support for childcare. Without this type of assistance, many single mothers may likely remain in the cycle of poverty while working hard to put food on the table and raise their children.

Won’t you join me today in supporting single mothers? Our goal for 2016 is to raise $155,000. This amount will allow us to provide scholarships to 10 qualified applicants. With your help, I know we can make a difference in the lives of single mothers and their children, likely changing the course of their lives forever.
